Veselina Dashinova is an Alumnus. A UK based filmmaker, animator and educator, Veselina was born in Bulgaria. Studying at the High School for Fine Art, Ilya Petrov Sofia she then went to complete a 1st class BA in Animation here at Farnham, before an Animation MA at the Royal College of Art, London.
Her work combines live-action and animation. Exploring peronal history and memory, she develops fictional stories based on actual events, archive material and journals.
Veselina's work continues to recieve appreciation internationally and has been screened at numerous film festivals: IWF Festival Seoul, Melbourne International Animation Festival, Intrefilm Berlin. Her film "What They Could Take With Them They Took" (2009) won Best Student Film at the KinoFilm Manchester.
Veselina has produced and delivered a wide range of educational projects for teh BFI, UAL, New Horizons and Open Cinema. In 2015, Veselina moved to Bulgaria where she co-founded LitteMakers - an initiative aiming at helping children and young adults develop their creativity through the means of digital arts, animation and filmmaking.
Veslelina is a senior lec turer on the Animation course here at UCA Farnham.
