Miriam Fox is a UCA Farnham alumni, graduating with a 1st Class (Hons) in BA Animation before going on to gain a Masters in Directing Animation at teh National Film and Television School.
Specialising in 2D animation, character performance and storytelling, she utilises both digital and hand-drawn techniques, as well as rotoscoping and live action acting, to create compelling stories which often delve into deep emotional and psychological experiences and neurodiverse perspectives.
Her films have been screened internationally and even picked up a few awards, which "is always a nice surprise". Her NFTS graduation film Dead Silent, which explored male suicide and emotional repression, has been used to raise awareness about these issues and was nominated for a Student BAFTA and Royal Television Society Award.
She has also been featured in the Primetime Graduate Showcase and created work for short films and documentary as well as the Disney Image UK Shorts Incubator, the London International Animation Festival, and has been a blogger for Mind, the mental health charity.
Outside of lecturing, Miriam is an active filmmaker, illustrator and self-published novelist, who dabbles in crochet, pyrography and metal work, although all those feel easier than writing website bios...
